Why I am not a fan of Assassin’s Creed

Wait, let me explain. Games I usually play on downtime. If I have time to kill, to unwind. Or if the stress of the everyday makes me want to go crack some heads online. I think that’s why I am such a fan of COD. But the several times I’ve come across those ultra cool game trailers of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, like this beaut, I can’t help but get giddy:

But then I remembered the first game in the series I got and played: Assassin’s Creed II. It’s still not completed. I lose interest in games that grade my efforts. Sometimes you just want to reach that glorious end with some sloppy knife work and gun play, not fall of a roof or hide all stealthily or lose a bunch of greasy Italian soldiers in a stack of hay. Annoying. And I didn’t do it in a certain amount of time so the timeline is not fully synced. But I have to say, it is quite sexy when you take down an general with flawless precision. And with Assassin’s Creed Unity out, boasting more of the same, I can’t seem to bring myself to get fully involved with the franchise. Although I’ll still get chills watching a trailer or two. What say you? Fan of the cloak and sleeve-dagger. Or are you lazy like me and like a bit of a more ‘brassy’ gameplay?
