This time around a familiar face will be returning to the mayhem in the form of Claire Redfield. Claire Redfield, played by actor Ali Larter, is set to make her return to the last instalment of the Resident Evil film franchise. Paul W.S. Anderson is again set to direct the sequel.

Milla Jovovich is also set to return to the series as heroine Alice and filming begins in South Africa this September.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to pick up where Resident Evil: Retribution left off [remind us what happened in that film, its all mulched together in one big ball], as the Project Alice is forced to race against time before the villainous Red Queen attempts to destroy the final remnants of humanity.

Resident Evil, despite getting it right in the games essentially lose the plot when hi-octane action takes over from survival horror when translated to film. One of the issues with game films sadly. Doubt this one’ll have much of a storyline either. But being the last we will see of RE in a while before the inevitable reboot, could we be possibly surprised?
