NEED FOR SPEED MOVIE. EA GAMES. DREAMWORKS. THE ACTION PIXEL. @THEACTIONPIXELThe first film, based on the popular racing game franchise, did well in theatres, monetarily speaking of course. That is even with the film starring Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.

And while EA games et al. are planning to da a Need for Speed sequel, they cant make any moves until they get ownership of the film rights, owned by Dreamworks. China Movie Channel chairman Yin Cao is however confident, and states the sequel will have more “Chinese talent and elements”. Cao went on to say:

We are excited to work with EA, one of the world’s most recognized creative companies. We are also delighted that much of Need for Speed 2 would be filmed in China, and we believe it will include much more Chinese talent and elements.
