The iconic Master Chief is bound for our screens yet again. Halo 5: Guardians have been rife with rumours that Master Chief would be MIA, but Microsoft released a statement verifying that Master Chief is very much integral to the story.

The new dynamic, which is where it seems everyone got a bit confused, is the introduction of a new character Agent Locke. In the game, Locke will be on a “manhunt” for Master Chief, so the relationship dynamic may be somewhat an adversarial one, but spokespersons are keen to point out it isn’t clear as to why Locke is on the hunt for the Chief, and we are not sure exactly what for.

Halo 5: Guardians launches in Fall of 2015. A beta version will be made available for fans though in the festive season. To keep the palette wet, though, feast your eyes on so previs artwork from 343 Industries:
