Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, known from films like Man from UNCLE and Ex-Machina and the upcoming film Jason Bourne, has been cast as in the coming video game movie reboot of Tomb Raider.

Initially rumoured that Star War‘s Daisy Ridley was up for the part, Vikander has been confirmed by Variety to be the next Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider is based on the popular video games, with two preceding movies starring Angelina Jolie having grossed over $400 million.

Director Roar Uthaug has been slated as the director for the rebooted film taking it’s cues from the more recent game titles.

The new Rise of the Tomb Raider video game hits later this year as well.
