Tom Hardy is reportedly to have dropped out of Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad is part of the DC Comics features slated for cinematic release in 2016. Hardy’s reason for withdrawal from the film isn’t yet know, but we suspect other film obligations to be the cause, as The Revenant, a film starring the actor, has gone over schedule.
Rick Flagg, the role Hardy was set to play, has been said to be snapped up in turn by Jake Gyllenhaal.
With Hardy’s departure, this leaves Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang and Cara Delevigne as Harley Quinn. Viola Davis may also be playing Amanda Waller, if the necessary deals pan out.
Production on the film commences in Toronto, Canada come April this year.
