superman haircut. Superman #41. the action pixel @theactionpixel dc comicsThings are changing over at DC. An while they may not be as loud as Marvel’s Secret Wars (the irony), they still pack a punch. Segue to Superman. And no, we are not talking about the Solar Super Flare power of his, but we are actually talking about his hairstyle. Clark goes a little / big transformation with almost a buzz cut look (secretly funded by the US Army?)

It is also confirmed a hundred hipsters died when they heard news of Superman cutting his mullet. Our guess is you uses his Super Flare power to singe the ends:superman haircut. Superman #41. the action pixel @theactionpixel dc comics

This news (the hairdo that is, no hipsters to our knowledge died) comes from the solicitations to Superman #41, and will feature new scribe Gene Luen Yang.

Description reads:

Superman #41. Written by Gene Luen Yang. Art and cover by John Romita Jr. and Klaus Janson. The JOKER variant cover by Karl Kerschl.

The epic new story line “TRUTH” continues with the debut of the amazing new creative team of new writer Gene Luen Yang (“American Born Chinese”) and continuing artists John Romita Jr. and Klaus Janson! What will happen when the big secret is revealed?

On sale June 24 • 32 pages, FC, $3.99 U.S. • Rated T.

But the reason? Well, as Yang explains it, it is only part of a task to bring Superman more into the future and gain some Marvel-esque syncing between DC comic franchises, and, possibly, DC’s film universes:

We’re trying to figure out something that will take him through a big chunk of time. We’ve been talking about 10 months to a year’s worth of story. Superman, because he’s such an important character in the DC Universe, there are four titles where he’s one of the main stars. There’s Superman, there’s Batman / Superman, Superman / Wonder Woman and Action Comics. All of the writers of these books [Yang, Greg Pak and Peter J. Tomasi], we got together for a conference in New York a couple weeks ago to just talk through the character, talk through some sort of a premise that would be able to go through all those books. That was the tricky part, coming up with some kind of a premise that would both give us as writers the freedom to tell stories with our own voices, but also give all of these books a sense of unity.
