run the jewels. The action pixel. @theactionpixelWhen we came across Run The Jewels, we could not get enough of the synth / bass soundscapes of the prolific rap duo El-P and Killer Mike. With one of their first music videos featuring some trippy animation for the song Run The Jewels, let’s just say we’ve developed a man-crush. A Manly one, mind you.

Now they’ve been blowing up in a major way, announced to be a headlining act in Coachella 2015 and performing on the Conan O’Brien show. But most noticeably, the unique group has landed two features on variant Marvel comic book covers.

The Mass Appeal-signed duo have featured on Marvel variants for Deadpool #45 (the death of Deadpool issue) and Howard the Duck #2. Immortalised on the covers is different interpretations of Run the Jewels album art and common hand gesture of one hand holding a gold-rope chain and the other hand forming a finger pistol. Both El-P and Killer Mike, being avid fans of the comic, jumped at the chance of featuring on the variant covers. All we can say is keep up the good work boys!
