With the coming of Venom, alongside Black Cat, Silver Sable and Miles Morales’ Spider-Man animation, Sony seems to be real confident with their Spider-Man Homecoming spin-offs (yeah, they are connected now).

But more news has surfaced with regards to Venom starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. It seems that one symbiote was too little for this adaptation, so the feature will have Carnage making an appearance.

Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage is a bit of a loony homicidal maniac. With a name like Cletus, can you blame him? Well in recent adaptations of the Venom character, he has been presented as an anti-hero, so Carnage’s introduction may have him as the bad guy.

Originally there was rumour of a separate Carnage film in the works, but Carnage feels like a big deal to bring out this soon when we haven’t got a good Venom yet. We thought Sony would aim for a trilogy and Carnage feels “second sequel level” to us. But we’ll wait and see.

Venom is to be directed by Ruben Fleischer.
