Arrow Season 4 has already heralded some eventful news, from the new Arrow costume change and the adoption of the moniker ‘Green Arrow’, to the return of NBC’s Constantine in a one-off Arrow ep. Now Felicity Smoak also returns. But without all the crying and emotional stuff.
Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim gives details on Felicity’s (played by Emily Bett Rickards) more somber outlook in Season 4:
The show got really, really dark last year, and I think [Felicity] reacted accordingly. Certainly no one was more tired of the crying than Emily [Bett Rickards], but right behind Emily was the rest of us.
So expect a “strong, capable, funny Felicity… we know and love”, as you can perceive she had a lot of coming-to-terms to do after the whole of Season 3 and being in more stable relationship with Oliver Queen.
Things are looking brighter already.
Arrow Season 4 has begun filming recently, and features a lot of DC characters including Mr Terrific and our TAP10 anarchist Anarky.
Arrow returns Wednesday, 8 p.m. ET on The CW come October 7th 2015
