Elodie Yung cast as Elektra for Netflix + Marvel Daredevil

After the subtle reference to the enigmatic, deadly assassin known as Elektra, the drop-dead femme fatale is officially bringing out the sai for season 2 of Daredevil. And the actress to play the sultry role is GI Joe: Retaliation‘s Elodie Yung.

The pairing with Murdock / Daredevil will be an interesting dynamic to say the least. After all, they’re like Batman and Catwoman. So expect a lot of dirty rough play and back-stabbing (literally and figuratively).

Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb spoke on the process of finding the right gal to play Elektra:

After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.

And you know the buzz is on already, with Jon Bernthal announced as The Punisher, another comicbook role Brenthal is taking super-serious, as well as season 2 set photos popping up online, Daredevil is already on the move to churning out another binge-worthy string of episodes.

Daredevil Season 2 is slated for release on Netflix in 2016
