arrow and the Flash. dc comics. the cw. the action pixel @theactionpixelOn Casting call for The Flash / Arrow Spinoff has revealed some new DC heroes to be joining the mix, and the descriptions have us very hopeful for the future. The description of the 3 DC heroes are as follows:

“THE TRAVELER” | Described as a “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.

“FEMALE WARRIOR” | This twentysomething Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.

“MYSTERY HERO” | An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.

Now, based on this, we suspect “The Traveler” refers to Booster Gold, a hero that travels back in time from the future using advanced technology to become famous as a superhero. He pretty much fails at it, but in his own quirky, unwitting way does what a hero does, put others before himself. Even if it is for a fleeting moment.

boostergoldThe “Female Warrior” feels like Wild Cat, the DC hero Yolanda Montez who dons the costume born as a metahuman with retractable talons.

black lightning. dc comics. the action pixel. @theactionpixelstatic. the action pixel. @theactionpixelThe “Mystery Hero” maybe one of two people. Static would be our first guess, as he was a bit of a fast taker , and a whole generation will remember the street smart antics and the awesome dreadlocks of Virgil on the WB animated series in the 90’s, which DC could use to push Virgil back into the spotlight (and a live action spin-off!!? [here’s to dreaming]). Another far out idea may be Black Lightning, but if I remember correctly, the real Black Lighting, the first African-American on DC’s roster, was a bit hardcore, like a badass “Punisher”, and the description seems it would diverge from that in a major way if it is him.

This is awesome news as we have already seen the Nuclear Man cook up a storm on CW’s The Flash, and having the rumblers less known on the DC roster compared to the vets like Supes and Bats, it is only a good thing DC flaunts the rich character tapestry they have been sitting on. Let’s hope the get some superb actors for the roles.
