spiderman. marvel. the action pixel. @theactionpixelSince Spider-Man’s grande return to the MCU, there has been a lot of speculation of where he will appear in Sony + Marvel productions, or even who will play him. Now we know it’s Peter Parker for the MCU, Sony decided to top that and released news that they plan on releasing an animated feature of Spider-Man.

Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon released the news of an animated set for Spider-Man set to be out in 2018, and features The LEGO Movie</em> and 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller on board to write a treatment and produce the film. They however are not attached to the project to direct.

The animated project is also said to “exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe”, so as apiece we guess it could standalone but will add to wider viewing when considered in context with other Spidey films.

The animation is to follow the stated time of Sony and Marvel’s live-action Spider-Man feature on July 28th 2017.

Spider-Man’s animated feature is set for release come July 20th 2018

“With Sony could we expect to see a full fledged anime for spidey with a western narrative? Or are you looking forward to a more American render. Classic 2D, 3D or a combination of both? Or maybe claymation?! Let us hear what you think in the comment section below!”
