It was a barrage of pointless Reality shows, no, Music Television actually played music and had a awesome animation game, pumping out cult favourites like Daria and Beavis and Butthead. But if you wanted to see Bob Marley beat the shit out of Shaggy or Madonna versus Michael Jackson in a crotch-grabbing contest, you did not have to look any further than Celebrity Deathmatch.

The claymation was definitely what inspired a generation from the likes of Robot Chicken, from its fluid motion to off-brand humour. Now a whole new generation can look forward to the antics of celebrity face-offs as MTV2 has greenlit a new series of the show. Celebrity Deathmatch creator Eric Fogel and Wasteland Entertainment are spearheading the project.

It’s been 8 whole years since the show was last seen in season 6, and certain a whole brand new amount of celebrities worth of being viewed as a joke will surely be making their appearance in the claymation series.

from 1998-2002 the original Celebrity Deathmatch ran on MTV for 75 episodes before being cancelled. It was brought back to MTV2 in 2005 / 2006, with the fifth season becoming MTV2’s highest-rated season premiere ever before the series was cancelled again in 2007.
