With news of the Batman anime set to invade our screens in 2018, NYCC has unveiled the first poster for the concept anime feature Batman Ninja. And it goes without saying that the style of dress and art is most certainly inspired by the age of feudal Japan.

A clip from the animation was also shown at the panel at NYCC 2017, where far-eastern takes on Nightwing, Harley Quinn, Penguin and Gorilla Grodd featured. And, of course, the Joker.

Warner Bros. Japan and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment team are set to premiere footage from the anime, which is described as an imaginative take on Batman and many of his connected characters. Panelists will include director Jumpei Mizusaki, character designer Takashi Okazaki, screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima, English-language screenwriters Leo Chu & Eric Garcia and some potential special guests.

And seeing Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki is involved, well, things seem to be looking up for DC in the animation department.
